because Trot Nixon has been my favorite player for the sox since he started playing for them. I went through a Mo Vaughn/Scott Hatteburg/Jeff Frye stage, and then it was Shea Hillenbrand (I'm STILL pissed about that trade...Oh you should have HEARD the names I was calling Kim when he f-ed up that 8th inning in the 1st game against Oakland the other night. I sounded like a truck driver...). But now, it's Trot. All Trot, all the time. (I was telling the active sisters the only thing I have trouble with during pledging is not wearing my Nixon jersey!) Last night, I turned to my friend Zach and I was like "Wouldn't it be nice if the sox won this game and it was MY Trot Nixon that did it?" WHAM- the ball goes flying into the bleachers and I jump up and scream. Then we all ran out into the street to join the chorus of "YAN-KEES SUCK. YAN-KEES SUCK" reverberating throughout the streets of Boston.
The Boston Red Sox, while obviously not the best team in the league, are a FUN team. It's FUN to be a fan. They're going far this year guys. Those are my boys.
