This season of the real world does look like it will be more interesting than some of the past years. I am interested to see how things do play out with Coral and Nicole, particularly the argument they highlighted. For all the talk of stereotyping Black men, I hope the show does not take the opportunity to stereotype their way around Black women either.

As far as Mike and Coral were concerned-
IMHO, he sounded as if he was saying that his Uncle did not hire Black people because he had found them to be slow. He did nut sound as though he thought that conclusion was untrue. He sounded as though he felt that it was not true across the board but that where his uncle was it was the case. He sounded as if he was trying to explain the situation by saying "but it is not there fault- their schools are not good." I felt as though he did not see why what he was saying may be offensive to Coral and Malik because he continued to try to justify why it was the lack of education. I do not feel that he was leading to Uncle Bob was wrong just that Uncle Bob did not understand that their ignorance was out of their control.

As Malik and Coral walk away from the diner he does say that he was insulted by the comment but decided there was no need for him to say anything because Coral had handled it.

I hope Maik does take the opportunity to be open and learn new things. I think it is going to be harder with this cast because of Coral’s strong personality and fact that he is a guy unlike Julie in Nawlins. I think he has a healthy dose f male arrogance to overcome throughout the learning process.
