When I was in school, the cool thing was to have one ear double-pierced (I am showing my age, aren't I?) and we hung our lavaliers from the second hole in our ear. I remember them asking us to remove them for our chapter's 75th birthday because all the big kahunas from headquarters were coming to the event.
