That policy holds for all AOII chapters, regardless of size (or location) - it is not a north/south issue at all. However, NutBrnHair is correct, there are large greek systems where they have 50 or 60 legacies going through and quota is about the same. Obviously if the chapter takes all their legacies they won't be able to take anyone else.
Let me clarify....

I only know how University of Michigan does rush. At UofM, (since I am an AlphaGam) my chapter would only know which girls are AGD legacies. Unless a PNM tells us she is a legacy of house XYZ, we do not know if a woman is a legacy at any house.

I am wondering if in other systems when a woman registers & her information is distributed to all the chapters, if everyone would know she is a legacy at one house or another.

Example, when I have a daughter(which will be a LONG time from now) she would be an Alpha Gam legacy. When she registers to rush & writes that she is an AGD legacy, would that info be released to all chapters or just AGD at other schools? If she went to UofM and the system remained the same, AGD would be the only house to know she was a legacy and the girls in, say AXO (one of my friend's houses) wouldn't know that she was a legacy elsewhere.

my best friend goes to Central Michigan. the same applies there. only the women know if the legacy is of thier own chapter. But at CMU, its a small school and all the houses are friendly so people find out by word of mouth. Also, if a PNM behaves badly/is rude to try to get cut ALL the chapters find out and usually those women end up cut EVERYWHERE.
