I don't think I ever knew the GPA of any of our New Member classes...our GPA was always calculated as an entire sorority. However, GPA is carefully considered during our rush, which usually has anywhere between 600-900 PNMs. After Open House (the first day), most cuts are based upon GPA, and since a woman has to have a 3.0 high school GPA (I think) or a 2.8 university GPA in order to pledge my sorority, we don't like to keep PNMs whose GPA's are lower than that. Occasionally we will take a grade risk, meaning that if a woman has a GPA lower than the minimum but not by much and we really like her, we will take a chance on her. But usually, if a PNM's GPA isn't up to par, she gets cut.
