Trick Daddy Arrested For Drug Possession
Rapper Trick Daddy was arrested near Miami on Wednesday for felony cocaine-possession and misdemeanor marijuana-possession charges. The charges are the latest in a growing list of transgressions for the Southern rapper — an issue that might complicate matters in a previous arrest.
Trick Daddy, whose real name is Maurice Young, and a friend were drinking cognac and being unruly in the stands of a high school football game Wednesday night in Homestead, Florida, prompting several parents to complain to the police. The two were being escorted out of the high school stadium when police officers discovered the drugs on Trick Daddy's possession, the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office said. Trick Daddy was placed in county jail until a bond hearing Friday (September 26).
The rapper's situation is complicated by the fact he was already out on bond for another felony incident last February. The MC allegedly pulled out a gun on 27-year-old Pernell Paige during a confrontation after a pickup basketball game. For that, he faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, use of firearm in commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was out on bond on those charges until he goes to trial, which is scheduled for October 14. The latest drug offense could cause a judge to revoke the previous bond issue, thus landing Trick Daddy in jail until his court dates on both sets of charges.
