I can tell you the exact moment when I believe "light-bright" brothas went out of style:
Picture it. You're in the theater or at home watching "New Jack City." It's the scene where Nino Brown (Wesley Snipes, with his chocolate self) it talking to his clique at the round table. He's walking around the room, mad as h#ll about the crack house getting shut down.
Then, it happens!
Nino takes a knife and stabs Christopher Williams (I can't even remember his characters name...) in the hand and says something along the lines of, "I never liked you anyway... pretty mutha@*&*r."
That was it! Sistahs didn't want no parts of no yellow men after that! Think about it ya'll... Coincidence? I venture to say not...
