If $10 is "nothing" - why charge it? Who gets it? Do they need it?
If a fee keeps one potential pledge from participating, drop it.
If required registration keeps one potential pledge from participating, drop it.
When this is over, let's see the numbers. I hope they're up, but I think they're headed the wrong way.
