Right. When I read the story, I was like, "mother? This is the first time I've heard about her mother!" I assumed her mother was dead, because the only person I've heard about from her family was her grandmother (whom, you notice, isn't on the suit). This reminds me of how Dennehy's (basketball player from Baylor) father just popped out of nowhere, wanting "punitive damages" resulting from his son--whom he had little if any part in raising--being killed. The only "punitive damages" these clowns should receive is the ones for being neglectful parents until it's too late.
I'm also seeing red because the fact that residential directors' names are listed on the suit, but that's another post entirely.
It's a terrible story, and I hope the responsible parties--ie, the murders/rapists are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It's just wrong to pull in innocent parties out of grief.
