My cat's name is George: for two reasons:
1. Curious George the monkey. That darn cat is into everything.
2. from the bugs bunny cartoons - remember the snowman guy who would pick up marvin the martian and try to make him a pet, saying "I will love him and hug him and squeeze him and call him George." I adopted the cat from my summer roommate, who was a foster mom for the county's animal league. she had several kittens who were all rescue animals and we taught them to be nice cuddly pets - i.e., "love them and hug them and squeeze them". stray cats aren't naturally used to people - you have to get them used to you. then they are nice.
Also, i just don't like calling pets things like "fluffy" or "mittens," unless it's ironic. (I had a friend with a HUGE rottweiler named Fluffy. Now that was funny.) George is a good solid name.
Lately though, i've been calling him You Little F***er!!!!!
He is eating lots of important wires - chewed up two cell phone chargers (thankfully for my old phone, just got a new plan and phone) this week.
He's also sending my alarm clock radio to a slow painful death - you know the weird little wire that's supposed to be an antenna? He bites off a section at a time, little 1"-2" pieces and leaves them around the apt. Now there is only a sad little 3 inch stubby piece left. I can only get one station. I need to go find an alarm w/ a real antenna.
He tried to eat the wire on my real stereo once but i screamed bloody heck for about 5 minutes straight. He hid under the bed for 1/2 hour. Now he's afraid of my radio - and that's a good thing.
I feed him plenty - is there some kind of vitamin in the wires of my electronic equipment that he's missing????? Does anyone else have this problem???
