I love these stories, so I figured I'd share mine...

By the way, I don't know why I was never Panhellenic Delegate... was nominated for it, but seriously, after reading this, you might wonder, too.

My first 2 years at UCR, there was always this "connection" between the Gamma Phis and Kappas. Come to find out, it's been like that pretty much since the dawn of sorority time at UCR (1975ish). So I had some Kappa friends, and we'd go out occasionally or hang out at parties (even though I thought they hated me at first... but they continually invited me back during rush... oh well- still love them). There was this one Kappa, Courtney, who I thought was so gorgeous, and I thought "she must be the biggest b*tch," mainly because she was dating an ATO who (I still maintain) looks like Paul Walker. Well, come to find out, my junior year, my boyfriend at the time ended up going with her and bunch of people to celebrate her 21st. I didn't know her, but I trusted him and told him to go (I was the only one who was underage and busy that night anyways). So they go, they have fun, etc. She talks to me the next day in Commons because she thought I'd be upset for some reason that she had hung out with my boyfriend. She was SO NICE TO ME!

So we all start hanging out in our big group of friends... she's over at my boyfriend's apt. all the time, we go to parties and dinner together, and then she up and graduates and moves back to NorCal... I was so sad because I thought this great girl that I started to have the most fun with was going to never talk to me again. Wrong, as usual. She and I would talk almost daily. My boyfriend and I went to visit her shortly after that and we've become best friends. I could not live without having her in my life!

Now for the Panhellenic part of me... my group of friends at the BI (club in the 909): me, a bunch of Delts, a bunch of ATOs, a bunch of baseball players (a fraternity in itself), a bunch of Gamma Phis, a bunch of Kappas, a bunch of Alpha Chis, occasionally a few Pi Phis... it's like Greekfest...

One of my best friends from high school is ADPi at another school... her other good friends are Alpha Phis and Alpha Chis (they call themselves "Alpha sisters")

People I used to work with and hang out with on a regular basis are Kappas, Pi Phis, Alpha Chis, DGs, Sigma Kappas, etc... It's really odd... but I love how there's no drama with it.
