I agree with all of the previous advice given, and I also wanted to add what worked for me.
I started keeping a diary of EVERYTHING that I ate (right down to the last 3 M&M's that I found in my bag-LOL), and at the end of the day, I reflected on what it all was. This REALLY helped me, because not only did I get to see exactly what I ate, but I was also able to track when I ate unhealthy (which was usually around the afternoon-more fatty foods). From seeing this, I immediately changed that habit.
Another thing that is essential to losing weight is water. Personally, I don't like drinking plain water, so I'd go and buy what water tasted the "best" to me (I hate Crystal Springs, but I loooove Evian and Black Mountain). Keep a large bottle with you, and (if you want) add a few lemon wedges in it. When i "thought" I was hungry, I'd sip some.
I stopped eating after 8pm-that was one of the hardest things for me to do, cause I get the cravings BAD at night!
I could go on and on....but if you'd like any more advice, feel free to email me!!
