It all depends on the sorority as to what happens at the open recruitment parties. I know that at my chapter we held barbeques outside, tried to do a candle party (when we couldn't even burn candles in our dorms
), and even had a Super Bowl party. Before I joined my chapter, I went to another organization's party, and I looked through scrapbooks with the sisters and just talked to them about anything and everything. I would definitely go with a classy casual (not really jeans, but definitely not dressed up), and the parties can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours (I'm guessing here). I don't know if your GPA will mean you'll be dropped again this time or not, it depends on the organization and what the Panhellenic on campus requires. Best of luck, Julie!
