Can Be Very Misleading
It's a little like saying that the University of Wisconsin's football team can beat Miami's because Wisconsin has 40,000 students and Miami only has 15,000.
Old and very well established fraternities like Beta Theta Pi, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Delta Theta and Phi Gamma Delta aren't going to be found at the top of any numerical comparison lists, but they are usually among the leaders on major campuses.
In broad terms, right now TKE has the most chapters, SAE the most initiates, SigEp the greatest number of undergrads, and us (Pikes) have (or had until last year) the largest average chapter size. Sigma Chi is probably the best known fraternity name and still doesn't rank #1 in any of those categories. Kappa Alpha Order is relatively small, but very prestigeous throughout the south.
I agree that we should sell whatever things we have to brag about, but getting caught up in numbers comparisons can give you a distorted vision of reality.
