People do not gain "the freshman 15" solely from eating - often you have a complete activity change from high school.
One of my friends was feature twirler, swam, and ran track for her high school. It was a very small school and basically whoever wanted to be in sports, could. When she got to college (where you had to be recruited or try out) she did none of that. You don't realize how much you are exercising until you don't. I only gained 5, but I would wager it was from not having the endless color guard practices because my eating was pretty much the same if not less.
