50s "Frat Boy" observation
negative: 75 bids, 55 pledges, 26 initiates sucks...do they have
positive screening, good mentoring?
Title: Frat Boys is a turnoff for those who loved it all
Blackball usage: cowardly, obsolete, should be gone.
positive: beautiful house, well kept, shows extreme pride
pledge duties not demeaning, positive
dress of members, language, decorum
Kinda brings back what we think Greeks should be. And while the laws have changed, and times are different, there is still a lot
of room for the drinking scholar.
To classy Phi Delta Theta (and good almost everywhere), Sigma
Nu, et al. ya did good
Alums...Ronald Reagan was president of his chapter of TKE at
Eureka, entertained Tekes at White House, visited many TKE &
other houses while president, made two rush films for TKE and
without question, best Greek supporter ever among presidents
Gave many pro-Greek talks. Harry Truman never went to college
but was Lambda Chi Alpha honorary, wimpy Clinton not a Greek, Nixon, Ike, Carter at schools with no greeks. Ike's bro Milt an SAE, Bushes both Dekes, Ford Sigma Chi, do not know
if JFK a Greek, but not as undergrad (JFK, Jr a Phi Psi)
In all a plus...and Phi Delt, you did us all proud...Erik Conard,
TKE, Kansas State Teachers College '60
