Jill, honey, you can barge in here any time!!

For starters, some campuses tend to be much more diverse than others. Many sorority chapters on the west coast are extremely diverse, because those campuses are generally ethnically diverse. In other areas of the country, campuses aren't at all ethnically diverse, and I would hypothesize that would carry over to NPC recruitment. My own collegiate chapter is multi-cultural, but the chapter I currently work with does not appear as such. I do not have student ethnicity stats for either school's undergraduate population, or I'd share that with you!

Additional variables you may wish to consider are:

1. Of those African-Americans, Hispanics or Asian-Americans who participate in NPC recruitment, how many choose to withdraw (with active invites) before completing the week?

2. Is the campus receptive to African-Americans, Hispanics or Asian-Americans participating in NPC recruitment?

You may be able to directly contact the Greek Life Offices at various college campuses for the information as well. I don't know if they collect such demographic info from the PNMs, but if they do they may be able to pass it along to you. They can offer factual information for your research purposes.

Simply enough, I don't think I can answer your question, but I'd be interested in the answers you do receive. AOII welcomes all women, regardless of color, ethnicity, shape or size. I love that about us!

Good luck,
Christin
