Clear Channel is in business for the $$$. As they should be. They cater to the market. They do what they have to do to make money. If people don't like them, they should switch the channel or perhaps compete. The average radio listener is only tuned in for short periods of time. Therefore, play lists are limited to the songs that demographics show most people want to hear. Clear Channel is huge, because they are good at what they do. They cater to the majority. You can't fault them with that... it's business! I don't fit that majority, so I usually only listen to online radio, which has a much better selection. Try shoutcast.com.
