Question

Whitney Houston will be up for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the first annual BET Awards (http://www.bet.com/MUSIC/0,1821,C-7-67-230152,00.html). In light of her recent problems, how do we honor her? What I'm speaking of is the way that can seperate the artist from the personal life. How do we do this?

I'm concerned because of the message it may send. I love Whitney and her voice. I sincerely pray that she is able to get through her addictions and poor surroundings and see the light. I am just pondering the message that we are sending. Are we awarding Whitney Houston the Artist or Whitney the Person and how do we do one without allowing one aspect to overshadow the other.
