Really, must we get into this again? It's fine if the culture where you live says that white shoes after Labor Day is a no-go, but just because a woman breaks these rules doesn't mean that her mother didn't "raise her right."

If someone's mom raised her right, she wouldn't make assumptions on people's upbringings just because they decided not to follow some petty fashion rule that doesn't even exist in some parts of the country anymore.
But then, I would never wear white shoes with anything other than a wedding dress, my initiation dress or my white junior prom dress, so it's sort of irrelevant to me.
