I had all 4 wisdom teeth out when I was 19. No problems whatsoever, except that one of the local anesthetic blocks was slightly off, so they had to redo it (ow). I used Advil for the pain, and I was even eating solid food again the next day. My teeth hadn't gotten too impacted yet, though, so they pretty much came straight out.
I had my dad to take care of me, and he did a decent job, except when he decided I should have some way of making noise other than by shouting if I needed help, and his idea was to put my extracted teeth into a mason jar that I could shake.

My dad has a weird sense of humor.
