LABEL LEAVES LOOSE ENDS: Aaliyah’s funeral bill still unpaid.

Aug. 28, 2003) *As the beautiful songbird rests in peace, there’s drama brewing at her record label. Two years after Aaliyah’s untimely death in a Bahamas plane crash, the funeral company that shipped Aaliyah and the other eight victims home have yet to be paid, according to reports by the New York Post.
Butlers Funeral Home director, Loretta Turner, has stated that there is an outstanding debt of $70,000, which was to be paid based upon a verbal agreement with Virgin Records.

"Virgin has reneged on everything," Turner said.

Aaliyah’s record label has given statements in the past that the promises were made by two executives that are no longer with the record label.
