The movie was very eye-opening and in your face. Much more so than Do the Right Thing. So, what did yall think of it? It reminded me a little of that HBO movie, Dancing in September. I just really enjoyed the movie. Everything fit together so perfectly. I would like to meet Spike and just sit and discuss some stuff.
When I saw this resurface, I too, was going to suggest the movie, Bamboozled. I truly believed that this was one of Spike's better movies. It really made an excellent point about Black media, Black actors, and those behind the scenes (both Black and white). I also liked the underlying discussion of the inner turmoil of the African in America trying to succeed in two worlds (Damon Wayans' character)...kind of hitting on some of DuBois' discussion of the duality of the Negro. It was definitely an excellent movie with a good cast. It will beg you to question your very thoughts about the kind of diverse society Hollywood believes should exist and that of reality. Before I give away too much...let me end there, and simply suggest that it's truly worth the $4+ dollars from Blockbuster to rent it.

Best word to describe the movie: Profound!
