It isn't necessarily cheaper at all schools. The "draw" includes many aspects - nicer housing, better food at eat in houses, house boys & maids, but the main reason is to be able to live with your sisters.

A lot of houses at smaller schools don't have any of those - I had no food, no house boy, and no maid. The majority of Greek housing in Wisconsin (minus the UW) is like this - so the draw to live in is that it's cheap!
