In response to women boxing...
No disrespect intended, but if you look at L. Ali...(sans boxing gear), she is very feminine...(didn't she model, at one time...or am I thinking of someone else). She is beautiful, intelligent, articulate..etc! I think she represents us well. I don't think being a boxer takes away from her femininity....
I too, have mixed feelings about women boxing... But I don't think that they should stop boxing or stop pursuing their dream. I too, remember Christy Martin back in the day. She was very good at it and very passionate about it. I think she had found her niche. I think that if you find something that you want to do, and it makes you happy doing it, then you should go for it...(as long as it is legal).
Although it is not "the most feminine" thing for a woman to do...it is another step up in our goal to achieve equality. It may not be for all of us, but at least the ones interested in it will not be discriminated against by others(men) and they will have the freedom to do what they want to do.
Think about all the people that said women looked ridiculous playing basketball, soccer or even golf....
I don't think that I could do it..in fact, I know that I could not do it...but I give"props" to those that have the courage to get in that ring and do what they do!
