What you do is get a group of your single, professional friends together at least once a month. Every month, change the activity. At this time, you all can discuss all the signicant things that have gone on personally or professionally since the last activity.
(This is what I do with local friends) For those friends who are many miles away....we normally send each other cards, flowers...etc.
Additionally, don't forget to reward YOURSELF... ALWAYS.
Those friends of mine who are married with kids, I just keep a (mental) list of what I have purchased and MAKE SURE they will receive an invite to the graduation, wedding, housewarming etc. (which ever comes first
)
