My little's a waitress... she told me a story that at her last job, she had gotten change as a tip (forget how much the bill was for, but she certainly deserved more than change)... and so she went up to the people and said, "You forgot some change on the table." They were like, "Oh no that's for you." She responded, "Here I don't want it." She later got in trouble for doing that.
Another friend is a waitress and a bunch of my friends and I went out to dinner... our waitress wasn't very attentive, but the friend who's a waitress was very adamant about leaving a nice tip while one of my friends was like, "No she was awful." They actually got into a little argument about it.
I'll tip well if the service warrants it. My dad on the other hand tips generously even if it's not good, which I disagree with.
I once tipped the girl who waxed my eyebrows at school $10... I think the waxing itself only cost $8... I didn't realize it til after I left the place... I don't know what I was thinking because she was like no it's too much... it was the first time I went to her and she did a really good job, so even though I was kicking myself for it, I was like well at least she did a really good job... I went to her regularly afterward.
