Poem about sisterhood

:
From a post in someones LJ:
From: A KD Sister

Annie,
I was searching for some inspirational poems about sisterhood and I found this one on an Alpha Phi site. I'm not sure who the author is because it's not listed, I guess it's an Alpha Phi. So I just ended it with the webpage address.

------

I've heard it said that a sorority is a waste of time,
But I know better...
For I have seen the love and walked in the splendor of sisterhood

I've heard it said a sorority is sad;
I can't agree...
For I've heard the cheerful songs of frolicking pledges,
and the low laughter of puzzled actives in the air.

I've heard it said a sorority is a dull, selfish place;
It can't be true...
For I have seen the affection that doubles happiness
and cuts sorrow in half.

I've heard it said a sorority is harmful,
But they are wrong...
For I know the sisters and I've watched them strive
for a cause.

I've watched them live, love, and labor
as they dream, hope, and aspire, side by side.
