Of course, I would give 10% to the church as tithe and another 5% specifically for Christian health and wellness programs (for example promoting healthy lifestyles in the African American community as well as programs that help people break addiction habits.) I would then use 100 million to set up a foundation to that supports educating disadvantaged youth from a very early age. Starting at possibly pre-k in target neighborhoods programs similar to HeadStart will give kids the chance to experience things such as out-of-state field trips and a very rich education from the beginning. This foundation will require that the parents be at least partially involved in the program (e.g they have to sign that the children are doing their work.) A large portion of the funds will be used to establish private schools that serve a complete education K-12 in certain communities Everything will be free as long as the parents stay committed to monitor their children's progress. Evrything from SAT prep to interviewing skills will be taught. The program will continue to fund itself based upon investments made with the initial 100 million. I would also use another 50 million to establish an auxillary (sp?) fund that would improve the condition of existing elementary and middle schools in low imcome African American communities. I believe it is very important to try to fix education problems at a young age in order to solve the root of the problem not the symptoms.
I would then use another 100 million to establish low rent housing in nice communities as well as provide assistance in job training and placement. The remaining 5 million I would use to support higher education and study abroad scholarships for blacks.
Sorry this is so detailed, but that is a lot of money!
