First off let me say Greetings Sorors!

My campus is a PW campus with a strong history in racism. When I first came to campus, back in Fall 98 you only saw Kappas, Sigmas and Zeta on the yard and even though we also had Alphas and SGRhos (AKAs, Deltas and Ques were suspended). They really never did very much on the yard except for step and as a result a lot of people were turned off by the fact that they did nothing and all the frats were known to chase girls and pass them along in the Frat.

But without bragging on myself, when I crossed those immortal burning sands into Alpha Land Spr00 something miraculous happened. Every Organization we had on campus did intake that semester. Even though their numbers were still though it was a start and after I came through my chapter was not on the brink of disappearing anymore. When we came through we came through with the mentality to work and we did. We started doing more programs that were out of the ordinary such as holding forums on such issues as Date Rape, Finances, Relationship and Hip Hop Music. By this time the AKAs were back on the yard and we did a lot of programs with them and had Skee-Phi Month last october. One thing that we did that basically had never been done before was we starting working with the white Greek letter organizations. They helped us and in return we helped them and once we started working with them they became so curious as to what lines, line number and names, probates and stepping was all about. And as a result, we started a trend and now diversity is on the uprise on my campus. They secret behind it is to just want to do it. To want to make a difference. If we hadn't done that I don't think my chapter would have won Chapter of the Year at our District Convention and Outstanding African American Organization of the Year.
