I lost 40 pounds on Atkins. It is hard at first. I was so grouchy during Induction and even sunk so low as to sneak and eat the cut off crusts from my son's sandwhiches. Yeah, it was bad. But after the three days I felt GREAT. The sacrifice was well worth it to me. What really worked for me was planning ALL my meals/snacks in advance so I wouldn't have to make on the spot choices and give in to temptation.

This week I had to "de-program" myself because I found out I'm having a baby. I have to admit, it has been hard not to look at the carb count of the food I put in my mouth. But it also feels soooooo GOOD not being on a low-carb diet after several months. SWEET, SWEET FREEDOM!!! Now I'm on the "I-can't-keep-anything-down-why-do-they-call-it-morning-sickness-when-you-have-it-all-damn-day" Diet. Although I am not limiting my carb intake, I am sticking to the no sugar/caffeine aspect of Atkins. I'm trying not to go back to all my bad eating habits.

For those of you on Atkins with a sweet tooth, I recommend Ross Chocolates. When I got off induction, I bought some from lowcarbchocolates.com. All of the flavors were sooooooooooo good. The bars are much smaller than normal candy bars and cost more (like all the low carb candy bars), but you won't be disappointed. I've tried several low carb chocolate bars, even the Atkins bars (which I thought were kinda waxy and tasted yucky) and these are sooooooo much better. They're made with Belgium chocolate and taste LIKE CHOCOLATE. Well worth the price!!

If you don't want to buy in bulk like I did (I'm greedy ) you can order by singles or even find them on other low carb websites that sell low carb snacks. Ross Chocolates has their own website as well. I think they are located in Canada. I don't know if their website ships to the US.
