I think Ace is as sweet as can be. Yeah he did cheat on his girl and that wasn't cool at all, but it's not like he was a total jerk about it. He tried really hard to be faithful to her and you gotta put yourself in his shoes. If he and Kate weren't totally 1000% nearly getting married when he got home kinda together, you can't say that when you are all the way over in Paris living a completely new experience and you have feelings for a girl you live with, that nothing is going to happen. I think Ace is not only dreamy, but he seems like a sweet boy with a good heart that is honest and cares about peoples feelings most of the time. Everyone is entitled to a slip up every now and again. Now, if one day one he was like "I have a g/f but I don't care and I'm gonna hook up with whoever whenever" then I wouldn't think much of him, but I think time and again he has shown himself to be a gentleman, and at least compared to the guys I know around here, that can be a hard commodity to come by sometimes.
