I was considering ATL for grad school (urban planning w/ Historic Preservation), being an urban studies concentrator, we hear about the "Atlanta effect" and how bad the suburban sprawl is, and I've only visited there--not lived there, and I can attest to how bad it is.
If I could live anywhere, not worrying about money, I would pick San Francisco. The weather's great, beautiful views, and I'm not really worried about earthquakes--after 20 years of living in ground zero for hurricanes, I don't really worry about that!
