I somehow seem to invite ridiculous walks of shame! Three good stories:
1) New Student Week at my school. I get it in my head that there is a certain guy I want to hook up with, so I wear a HOT outfit - as in, very slutty shirt, very high heels, very smoky eye makeup - and succeed in my goal. Well, the outfit that was so perfect the night before was rather imperfect now, especially as my hair was clearly slept on and my eyeliner and mascara were all smudged under my eyes. I walk home the mile to my sorority house from his fraternity house, and on the way I encounter the ENTIRE freshman class on their way to dean's convocation. They were all pointing at me and whispering things like "She's on a Walk of Shame!"
2) In March, following a Rock Star themed Date Party. I dressed as Posh Spice in this super-short minidress, 3 inch stilettos that tied at the ankle, with a red coat over it (that made it appear as if I wasn't wearing pants b/c the dress was so short). Not only do I sleep in my date's fraternity house, but I don't wake up until 11 the next morning - a THURSDAY. Mind you it is also about 25 degrees out and snowing, plus I have a terrible blister from my stilettos. His fraternity house is the farthest from my sorority house - over a mile - and there is just no way I can walk home at that hour in that outfit. I start calling everyone I know who lived on that part of campus trying to find clothing... finally, this girl I barely know in my sorority picked up her phone and agreed to loan me track pants and a pair of sneakers. However, I had to walk down fraternity row to get to her dorm - still in my Posh Spice outfit. As I walked past my freshman boyfriend's fraternity house, I thought I saw him coming and flipped out, wanting to hide as I was clearly on a walk of shame. Even after picking up the change of clothes, my tiny purse and the stilettos I was carrying made it perfectly clear that I was on a Walk of Shame, at 11 oclock on a Thursday morning. Awful.
3) This summer. I was at this guy's house who lives a street away from me. We woke up around 6 in the morning at had our fun, and at about seven I said I should get going because I had some things to do. (AKA, leave before his parents got out). He said that his parents got up really early and went to see if they were up. Not only was his mom up, but she had heard us and asked him who the girl in his room was. I had to walk past her to get out of the house, and not only did she know who I was, but she and my mother are friends. I felt like quite a skank that morning!
