You say that people told you they were planning to disaffiliate from XYZ...UNTIL THEY DO IT, IT ISN'T DONE. As far as the girls getting to be active Greeks for all of ten minutes...as FABSS's sig says "I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special." Those girls who pledge and are initiated quickly may decide that the friendships they made in XYZ are better than being in a house that doesn't really reach them for 4 years. Plus, multiple pledge classes are not an uncommon thing at many schools.
Unless you have heard straight from XYZ's national council exactly what they are planning to do, you do not know. They aren't doing anything outside NPC guidelines as far as rush is concerned. As far as PNMs asking questions...my understanding was that no sorority is even supposed to mention another group during rush (unless it's in passing). I am guessing you've found a way to deflect other questions about other groups. Why in the world would this be any different??
