People use to think (and some people still do) that Jewish people had horns. The meaning behind it is that we're supposedly devils.
When my mom first came to college in the early 70's (University of Florida), a woman in her dorms came over to her. This woman had come to UF by way of the backhills of this one southern state that shall remain nameless. Supposedly, this woman had the intelligence of a door stop and got into UF only because her dad had lots of money. When my mother said that she was Jewish, the girl said in her loud voice, "YOU'RE JEWISH?!?!?!?! But where's your horns?!?!?!!?!" The girl truly thought that Jews have horns.
