Aggie - I don't think you are being annoying! I think its great that you have such a great job that allows you to help others and educate them about their pets! Way back when (when we didn't know any better!) we bought a ferret at a pet store. Thankfully, our town was large enough to have a ferret-specialist at the vet, so when we took Hobbes to see Dr. Barnard, he about went through the roof! Hobbes was only 2 weeks old (MUCH too young to be separated from his mother) and did not have a tatoo marking from his breeder, which meant he was most likely NOT from a reputable breeder (again, things we didn't even know to ask when we bought him). Dr. B had to start some life-saving treatments for Hobbes regarding vitamins, diet, and shots to build his immune system. He also did whatever vets do when they call "the authorities" about the pet store we bought him at. I don't know who the higher ups are in that case, but he filed a complaint against that store.

Hobbes never grew to the average size - his maximum weight was 2lbs 3oz (most ferrets average 7 pounds or so), and he never had the full coat of fur that most ferrets have. In fact, the first time Mr. AXO Alum and I met some ferret owners that had their ferrets with them at a campground, we were SHOCKED! We couldn't believe that that was how ferrets were "supposed" to look. Hobbes also had a lot of health problems throughout his 6 years that kept us at the vet and stocked up on medicines.

Anyway, Dr. Barnard was such a blessing to us! He moved his practice too far away for us to travel, but thankfully I met another vet in town who is also an Alpha Chi alumna!! So she was able to care for Hobbes in his last year of life, and eventually help him along to the Rainbow Bridge.

So NEVER apologize for being annoying - you are doing us all a service when you offer advice and educate us

Stevie - The bunny is adorable and I love the name you picked!
