This is in memory of my maternal grandmother, Dorothea Burger Hayden. Today would have been her 69th birthday.
She passed on June 9, 1998. My last memory of her is seeing her in the hospital on the night of my ex-boyfriend's prom on June 5, 1998. We decided to visit her before the prom so she could see my dress. Our last words to each other were "I love you" and "I'll see you later". However, I never saw her again.
Grandma, it's been 5 years since you have passed and I still miss you as much as that first day without you. I thank you for raising me to be the best person I could be and always reminding me to keep GOD first. You sacrificed so much so that I could have the best in education, clothes, etc. Sometimes I am selfish and wish that you could have been here for my HS graduation and my college graduation but I realize that you were sick and it was for the best. I know you're looking down on me and smiling. And don't worry, I've been taking care of grandpa!
