I don't know...maybe they are more likely to get an invitation to join at the end of their term or something...
Anyway, to further solidify the fact that Dr. Smith is in fact bring initiated, we got the invitation for the initiation (DU has a public initiation ceremony) and for the reception that will be taking place in the new house afterwards today in the mail. We can't go though, since we live 1800 miles away now!
