What are you using now? 2000 is a good operating system, but designed as a replacement for Windows NT. Windows XP Pro is designed as a replacement for 2000.

If you are using windows 98 or ME, I would go for Windows XP Home, which is designed as a replacement for those two...same features as XP Pro without a as good networking package
