I read that back in high school, and I had *heard* of sororities, but never knew what they actually were or what they did. This article made me decide I wanted to join one. It was a really great article, very well written and really displaced sororities and Sigma Kappa in a positive light.
This article wasn't the main reason I rushed, but it was pretty influential in making me wonder if maybe there wasn't "something more" to Greek life than what it was portrayed as in most media. I thought the article made it look really fun and interesting.

The biggest thing that made me want to rush was a camp counselor I had in early high school. She was in a sorority (to this day I still don't know which one) and she was the nicest, sweetest, most down-to-earth girl I'd ever met. I thought that if she was in a sorority, there MUST be more to them than slutty drunk girls, and so I decided to rush. I'm so glad I did.
