One day a few years ago, a very close old friend (former gf who really is a good friend, now) was in town on some business which started the next day.

We decided to have lunch to catch up.

Picked her up in downtown Denver, decided to have lunch in Boulder (35 minutes North), from there, took Boulder Canyon up to Nederland, then the Peak to Peak Highway through the Front Range to Central City, then back down Clear Creek Canyon to Golden then back into Denver. Spectacular drive.

Nice lunch turned into a beautiful all afternoon drive.

Fortunately, as a fairly high level manager who worked a lot of hours, holidays and weekends, missing the afternoon wasn't a problem. Never heard a word about it.

And my friend and I had a wonderful catch-up conversation.
