I lived down by campus at ASU for three years, and I've just moved home to finish up at the west campus so I can save money.
I am still adjusting. It's harder than I thought it would be. But then I look at my sister who decided to stay home from college and she's doing all the same stuff I used to do when I was her age, but my mom is there to see it all and my mom is going NUTS and freaking out about everything. I told her the other day that I did all of these things within a few weeks of moving out.
We agreed that ignorance is bliss and that going away to college is probably a good thing for both parent and child.
But I JUST got a car last week, and my mom is starting to really clamp down on wanting to know where I'm going and getting worried when I take my time going places and don't let her know. I don't even want to think what she's going to do when the year starts and my friends are back in town and I'm driving down to Tempe to see them all the time.
