"I agree that Harry had a right to be offended: a VERy big right. However, I think that if he was truly considering marrying her and had bought a ring then dumping her was a bit over the top. I mean, you were gonna spend you life with her, but dump her over something, albeit a very hurtful something, that she said while angry and hurt. That just seems a bit extreme to me. I mean, how often do you find someone you want to marry. I think it would have made more since to deal with the underlying issue- not dump the issuee (if thats even a word)."
He was hurt by the comment. I think the underlying issue was going to be Charlotte trying to get the upperhand by throwing out she gave up her religion for him. That marriage would had never worked because everytime she wanted to get her way or they had an argument, the "I gave up Jesus, therefore, you should do this for me" would had been her response. Men do not want to hear everyday what you gave up. Religion is a individual choice. If he wasn't going to marry her because she wasn't Jewish and he wasn't even a practicing Jew, then Charlotte should had seen the light and dumped him. Changing your religion to please a man is not the way to get a man to marry you. Charlotte really didn't want to a Jew. She only did it to get marry. Never change your personal beliefs for a man. If he can't accept you for what you are, then he doesn't deserve you.
