I don't think you need to spend hours having a site professionally done, but you do need to ask yourself a few questions

1) Do you have time to update the site yourself?
2) Can you afford to have someone else design it for you
3) What are your GLO's rules regarding content on the web?

Websites should be easy to navigate regarless of what computer system you operate with, so that needs to be taken into account. Each page should have a uniform design to make it easy to get around. It doesn't have to be fancy - pagemaker programs do quite well.

From my electronic publishing course, one of the key things to remember is not to clutter up the page with too much text or graphics. Use the KISS principle and you'll never go wrong (keep it simple, stupid )

As for the international reference, if you have chapters outside of the United States, ie in Canada, then you ARE an international GLO, so call yourselves one

Besides, us Canucks appreciate the efforts. Sometimes we feel a little left out of the loop up here. I know I really appreciate it when Pi Phi chapters point out the chapters in Canada, even if it's only one or two.

Ok, enough of my rambling. Hope that helps somewhat!
