I was told that when you join a new company, you should try to get a mentor who is influencial in decision making processes. Preferrably someone who is "like" you. If there aren't any other AAs , a mentor should still be sought. White, Hispanic, Oriental - race shouldn't be a final determining factor. There are alot of funny things that go on in the work place and a mentor can help lead us in the right direction. Your former supervisor was either out of touch ... or he felt he worked too closely w/ you to be your mentor.
