I think I may have mentioned this before, but I can't find it so I will repeat it.
I have two resumes. Two completely different ones for two regions of the country. One, has my sorority affiliation and all of its related offices on it. It also has my high school listed before my University.
Why? That's my resume for home. When I used my other resume (listing my college first, without sororities and with my environmental and women's issues-related activities), potential employers had never heard of my college. "Brown? Is that a black college or something?"

I knew that if I listed my high school first and my sorority, it was the only way to have credibility in my hometown. It opened doors for me, but I think mine is an extreme case.
So, I guess it's an issue of knowing your audience.
