I would also add to your list, *never* carry your social security card unless you absolutely have to. A social security card does not bear a photo and can be used to get a duplicate driver's license, get access to your bank accounts, and/or apply for credit cards - plus your SSN is powerful info in its own right.
If your state puts SSNs on driver's licenses (I don't think many do any more), you can request a non-SSN number. The same with college student IDs. DO IT.
