Thumbs up I love my big!

She's just about the perfect big for me, I think. I remember talking to her just after I'd decided to go through recruitment. I had waited a year because I didn't think I was the sorority type, then decided what the heck, why not? She's the same kind of person, and we had a lot of things in common. We're both music majors, too, which helps a lot because at UNC Greensboro, music is a huge deal and tends to section off music majors from the rest of campus, so it was great to get her thoughts.

Then, during recruitment, she never came up and talked to me, which made me wonder, until it came to Pref Night, when I found out that she'd waited to pref me. We both cried during the ceremony (which, by the way, was how I knew I was going Phi Mu ).

She was then my "paw pal," which is a sister assigned to each new member to hang out with during the week, get help learning the creed, things like that. You switch off and get to know a couple of the older sisters this way.

Then we signed up to be roommates on our hall in the spring, and next thing you know, she reveals herself as my big! It was awesome. She's the kind of girl I can completely look up to. She genuinely loves all of our sisters and Phi Mu, and tries very hard to live by our creed. She's funny, creative (she made my badge box, and it's a beauty!), loving, supportive, honorable, crazy, fun, beautiful...in a word, the best big I could ever ask for.

She's going to be a Rho Chi this fall...so I can't talk to her until Bid Day in September. How have others dealt with this situation?
