4) Why you joined Alpha Gam and/or your fave memory of AGD.
I joined AGD after going through formal rush my sophomore year. I was pretty overwhelmed with the choice, & I had no idea how to select between houses. I had a pleasant experience at each house I visited. I ended up dropping out of formal rush after I got my schedule for 2nd sets. I thought it was too big of a time commitment, & I didn't want to encounter what some girls in my rush group had: rude rushers. I left holding on to a high opinion of each house, but I realized that I didn't have a desire to go back to the houses that invited me.
Alpha Gam had been on the Mixers tour, but after that, just did COB after formal rush was through. They were recolonizing, & I enjoyed meeting the women at Mixers. I contacted my Rho Chi (okay, okay...Recruitment Counselor...but I just haven't gotten used to the change yet...) for more information. I went back, & really enjoyed my time there. The women explained that there would be opportunities for leadership with the house starting, & I really liked that idea. I figured the odds were better than at a chapter of approx. 140 girls. I loved the chapter house, & I picked up the enthusiasm the women had for Alpha Gam. The rest, they say, is history...
Well, finally, I'd just like to say that Judi & Leslie have told me how much they enjoy posting, since you are all great women.
